If you know that you will be rushed, it may be a good idea to ship 300 wood as your first card, then build a warhut - you have defense, and can start cranking out troops from the moment you age up. The Iroquis have two Aenna cards (i think) a tomohawk card, and 5 bears. I actually said that they had a better chance surviving a rush in discovery, but they are better against rushes than most European Civs anyway.

However, I do not have TWC, I only have the trial 1.1 so please, experienced Iroquois players, if you can support or comment on my observation please do, and also share good tactics and strategies you guys have foun in the IroquoisДЄs for ' The native civs actually have a better chance of surviving a rush' I personally do a sort of Aenna/tomahawk/natives rush and raid and then finish in age3 but it isn't a perfect strategy and they do have access to some nice upgrades, though so do other civilizations This only reinforces the idea that Iroquois in combat cannot rely on just troops but how they support each other and upgrades moreso than the others. Unlike other civilizations where rushes can be used well with just one or two kinds of 'spammable' units, I think Iroquois need to have a sort of mixed-arms groups.ДЄlso I believe the War Chief is ESSENTIAL to the Iroquois. I think Iroquois have to think like a team. While the warrior-roles and effectiveness can clearly be seen in Sioux and Aztecs, the Iroquois have decent troops but alone not very good ones like those Skull knights and Elmeti and such that other civilizations have at their disposal. infact I think they are very different, unique blend of european-like and native like. People said in the beginning that Iroquis seemed very 'european' and would be so similar. Anyone have ideas for good Iroquois strategies?
